Lake Wateree

Lake Wateree is a man-made reservoir located in the central part of South Carolina, USA. It covers a surface area of approximately 13,864 acres, has a maximum depth of 65 feet, and a shoreline of around 242 miles. The lake was created by damming the Wateree River in the 1920s for hydroelectric power and flood control. It is situated along the border of Kershaw, Fairfield, and Lancaster counties and serves as a popular recreational spot for boating, fishing, camping, and swimming. Some of the fish species found in the lake include bass, catfish, crappie, and bream. The lake is also known for its natural beauty and wildlife viewing opportunities, including bald eagles, ospreys, and other waterfowl.
